I'm Joab and I've been writing and illustrating stories since I was 6 years old. Never before been published (other than my college journalism stories), but I've always felt a certain passion for telling stories and drawing. The fact is that much of my career has been in graphic design, communication design, and storytelling for corporations and non-profits—I wanted to change that. I wanted to tell the stories that my son would enjoy, and other children would grow to love. I've been drawing all my life and never really done anything with it other than creating stuff for marketing campaigns and fundraisers. I remember sometime in my mid-20s talking to somebody about my writing and aspirations to be an author, told her, "I'll start when I'm 40, by then I'll have enough life experience and pain to tell good stories." Well, I'm now 40 and I'm keeping that promise to that girl, I'm keeping that promise to myself and not letting it slip away.
